Movement Restoration

Movement restoration coaching in Perth

Before you chase fitness, you need to be able to move. Jen Adams is a functional movement coach in Ballajura who helps adults across Perth win back the movement their body has lost, then build strength on top of it.

Is this you?

Signs your movement needs restoring

  • You avoid certain movements because you no longer trust your body
  • Old injuries never quite went away, they just went quiet
  • You have finished physio but you are nowhere near back to normal
  • Gym programs keep flaring things up instead of fixing them
  • Everyday tasks like reaching, kneeling or carrying feel harder each year

Movement comes before fitness

Years at a desk, old injuries, surgery, thousands of hours of the same posture: they all carve movement away quietly. The body compensates, the compensations become habits, and one day squatting to the floor or reaching overhead is simply gone.

Movement restoration wins it back. Using a detailed movement assessment, Jen maps exactly which patterns you have lost and why, then rebuilds them step by step: mobility first, then stability, then function, then strength. It is the approach that has made Hell's Bells Fitness a referral destination for chiropractors and physiotherapists in Perth.

This is the core of everything at the studio. It underpins injury rehabilitation, seniors training and even strength training, because strength built on poor movement always comes back to bite.

The method

The restoration process

Assess

A joint-by-joint, pattern-by-pattern assessment finds what has been lost and what your body is doing to compensate.

Restore movement

Targeted mobility and motor control work reopens the ranges your body shut down.

Improve function

Restored range gets built into real patterns: squat, hinge, push, pull, carry, get up off the floor.

Build strength

Progressive load makes the new movement permanent. Strength is how restored movement becomes yours for life.

Movement restoration FAQs

What is movement restoration?

Movement restoration is the process of winning back range of motion and movement quality the body has lost through injury, surgery, years at a desk or simply time. It sits between clinical treatment and normal training: first restore how you move, then build fitness and strength on top of it.

How is this different from physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy treats an injury or condition. Movement restoration picks up where treatment ends: rebuilding full, confident movement and strength for daily life. Jen regularly works alongside physios and chiropractors, and takes referrals from them.

How is this different from normal personal training?

Standard personal training adds load and intensity to whatever movement you walk in with. Movement restoration fixes the movement first. Loading a restricted, compensating body just makes the compensation stronger, which is how old niggles become chronic problems.

Am I too old or too far gone for this?

No. The body adapts at every age, and clients in their 60s, 70s and beyond restore movement they assumed was gone for good. The assessment establishes a safe starting point no matter how long it has been.

Find out what your body has lost

The movement assessment maps it all: what moves well, what does not, and the plan to restore it. That is where every client starts.
