Neck & Back Pain

Neck and back pain coaching that targets the cause

When pain keeps coming back, the sore spot is usually the victim, not the culprit. Jen Adams coaches exercise-based recovery from neck and back pain in Ballajura, Perth: find the cause, restore the movement, build a back that can cope.

Is this you?

The pattern of stubborn pain

  • Your back "goes" every few months, then settles, then goes again
  • Neck tension and headaches that treatment relieves but never removes
  • You have become careful: no lifting, no twisting, no trusting your back
  • Scans found nothing serious, yet the pain is very real
  • You are tired of managing pain and want to actually fix it

Treat the cause, not just the symptom

A back that keeps flaring is usually a back doing too much work. When hips stiffen and the upper back stops rotating, the lower back and neck get volunteered for jobs they were never designed to do, day after day. Massage and adjustment calm the symptom; the workload problem remains.

Jen's movement assessment looks at the whole chain: hips, spine, shoulders, and how you actually bend, lift, sit and reach. Then the program restores the missing movement, teaches your body better patterns, and progressively strengthens the back and neck until normal life stops being a threat.

This is why chiropractors and physios refer their patients to Hell's Bells Fitness: exercise is what makes their treatment stick. It draws on the same foundations as Jen's movement restoration and rehab coaching.

The method

The path out of pain

Assess

Find what is overworking, what is underworking, and which movements your pain is protecting.

Restore movement

Reopen the hips and upper back so the sore areas can finally stop compensating.

Improve function

Rebuild confident bending, lifting, turning and reaching with patterns that share the load properly.

Build strength

A strong back is a resilient back. Gradual loading makes everyday life easy again.

Neck and back pain FAQs

Should I exercise with back pain, or rest?

For most persistent back pain, the right movement at the right dose beats rest. Long rest tends to make backs weaker and more sensitive. The assessment works out what your back tolerates today and builds gradually from there. Anything that needs medical attention first gets referred on.

I have had scans and treatment and it still hurts. What is different here?

Treatment usually targets the painful area. Jen assesses the whole movement system, because the painful spot is often overworking to cover for stiff hips, a rigid upper back or weak supporting muscles. Fix the cause and the sore spot finally gets to calm down.

Do you work with my physio or chiro?

Yes, happily. Chiropractors and physiotherapists refer clients to Hell's Bells Fitness, and Jen coordinates the training program with your practitioner's treatment plan whenever you are under care.
