Senior fitness in Ballajura: stay strong, mobile and independent

The goal is simple: carry your own shopping, get off the floor without help, travel, garden and keep up with the grandkids for decades to come. Jen Adams coaches seniors in Ballajura, Perth to build the strength and balance that independence runs on.

Is this you?

Why seniors train with Jen

  • Stairs, gardening or getting off the floor are harder than they used to be
  • You have had a fall, or you have started worrying about one
  • Your doctor recommended strength or balance work
  • You want to stay in your own home and keep your independence
  • Big gyms feel intimidating and generic seniors classes feel too easy

Training for the next 20 years

From about 50 onward, muscle and bone quietly decline unless you give the body a reason to keep them. That decline is not destiny. Strength training is the closest thing we have to slowing ageing, and it works at every age it is started.

Jen has coached for more than 42 years, including one client who has trained with her for 14 years and counting. Sessions run in a private Ballajura studio, one on one or in small groups of up to four, and every program starts with a movement assessment so training begins at your true starting point.

The work covers what actually keeps you independent: leg and hip strength, grip, balance, the ability to get up off the floor, and the confidence that comes from feeling capable again. Where needed, it folds in mobility work and rehab for hips, knees and shoulders that have had a hard life.

Seniors training FAQs

Am I too old to start strength training?

No. Research consistently shows muscle and bone respond to sensible strength training at every age, including in your 70s and 80s. The program simply starts where you are: the movement assessment sets a safe baseline and progress builds from there.

I have arthritis, osteoporosis or a joint replacement. Can I still train?

In most cases yes, and appropriate exercise is usually recommended for these conditions. Jen has decades of experience adapting training around arthritis, bone density concerns and joint replacements, and will work with your doctor or physio where needed.

Will I be training in a big gym with young people?

No. Hell's Bells Fitness is a private studio in Ballajura. Sessions are one on one or in small groups of up to four, so you get full attention, no crowds and no intimidation factor.
